Working with Chris
Chris has a warm, understanding and professional approach. She provides a supportive environment for you to explore thoughts, feelings, behaviour, and experiences. An important part of the process is teaching you strategies and skills to work through your challenges.
Qualifications
Chris is a Registered Counsellor with NZAC. She has trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Mindfulness. She has a Diploma in Counselling, Certificate in Clinical Trauma Treatment, and is a Mindfulness Facilitator.
Experience
Chris has over 10 years' counselling experience and has helped hundreds of clients. Her experience includes working in a school setting with children and adolescents , and working with adults and youth with complex life issues as well as mental health challenges.
Now working in private practice, Chris supports , adolescents and adults with a range of issues.
On a Personal Note...
Chris lives in rural South Auckland with her husband Jamie. They have a wonderful 20 year old son, and a growing list of fur babies.
In previous years, the family has been involved with providing respite care for children in foster-care.
Prior to re-training as a counsellor Chris worked for 18 years in media and advertising. She still has a love of design, but loves working with people more, and considers counselling her purpose.
